Daily hire rates are:

• calculated per day
• quoted in New Zealand dollars
• subject to change without notice
• subject to a minimum rental period of five days (ten days if rental period includes 23 December to 10 January)
• subject to Britz terms and conditions (pdf)

Inclusions

• Unlimited kilometres
• Vehicle insurance (excess applies)
• 12.5% GST
• Airport transfer on pick-up and drop-off (except Wellington)
• Kitchen kit (eg, plates, bowls, cups, pots etc)

Save money with the Britz Bonus Pack

In addition to the actual hire of the motorhome itself, there are several other important items that you will need to purchase that are not included in the daily hire rates. By purchasing the "Britz Bonus Pack" you will save money on some of these items.   The Bonus Pack presently costs NZ$52.50 per day (maximum NZ$2,625) and is payable in addition to the daily hire rate.   Inclusions Excess Reduction Option 2 - Normally priced at NZ$40 per day PCO - (Premium Cover Option) Diesel Tax Recovery fee - The Diesel Tax Recovery Fee is normally calculated and collected on the return of your vehicle and is based on the kilometres travelled during your hire. The vehicle rates per 100km are as follows: HiTop: Nil Elite: NZ$4.70 Explorer: NZ$4.70 Frontier: NZ$4.85 1 x Table - Normally priced at NZ$22 per table, per rental. 2 x Chairs - Normally priced at NZ$12 per chair, per rental. 1 x Child or Booster seat - Normally priced at NZ$25 per seat, per rental.This must be pre-booked. PGO - (pre-purchase gas option) - This value added option ordinarily allows the hirer to buy their first tank of LPG at a discounted rate, thereby avoiding the need to replenish the gas bottle prior to drop-off. The re-fill rate (which applies when you neither purchase the PGO option nor return the motorhome with a full tank of gas) is NZ$15 for 2 berth vehicles and NZ$25 for 4 and 6 berth vehicles. 1x Personal Kit per person - This value added option allows the hirer to buy their first tank of LPG at a discounted rate, thereby avoiding the need to replenish the gas bottle prior to drop-off.Depending on the size of the vehicle, you will save between NZ$15 and NZ$25 by purchasing the "All Inclusive rates." Extra Drivers Fees Wellington and Queenstown location fee

Insurance

All vehicles are insured for the damage to the vehicle or to the property of a third party. For motorhomes the hirer is responsible for the first NZ$7,500 ('the excess') of the cost of the damage to the third party property or rented vehicle. This excess can be reduced by the purchase of Excess reduction option 1 or 2.

Additional costs

There are three types of additional costs: additional hire items, fuel, and pick-up/drop-off fees.
 

Additional hire items

It is strongly advised that you pre-book all of the following items for hire. Experience NZ Travel requires that you pay the cost for these items directly to Britz Rentals on collection of your vehicle.
 

• Picnic Table - NZ$22 per rental.
• Picnic Chairs - NZ$12 per seat, per rental.
• Child / Booster Seat - NZ$25 per seat, per rental.In New Zealand all children under 5 years of age must travel in a child restraint.
• Tent (4 persons) - NZ$75 per rental.
• Camping Kit - NZ$20 per day, maximum charge NZ$200 for 2 persons (subject to changes). Includes tent, breadboard, kettle, teapot, frying pan, knives, can opener, serving utensils, packet of pegs, torch, pots, vegetable peeler, cutlery, crockery, and sleeping equipment.
• Snow Chains - Free of charge.
• 1x Personal Kit per person - This value added option allows the hirer to buy their first tank of LPG at a discounted rate, thereby avoiding the need to replenish the gas bottle prior to drop-off.Depending on the size of the vehicle, you will save between NZ$15 and NZ$25 by purchasing the "All Inclusive rates".
• Pre-purchase Fuel - This option allows the hirer to buy their first tank of fuel upon collection of the vehicle, at a discounted rate, so you don't have to refill the vehicle prior to returning to the branch. (Save up to 5% on street fuel prices).
• Pre-purchase Gas - This value added option ordinarily allows the hirer to buy their first tank of LPG at a discounted rate, thereby avoiding the need to replenish the gas bottle prior to drop-off. The re-fill rate (which applies when you neither purchase the PGO option nor return the motorhome with a full tank of gas) is NZ$15 (HiTop) and NZ$25 (Elite, Explorer and Frontier).
• Extra Drivers Fees - NZ$3 per day, per additional driver (maximum charge NZ$150).

Fuel

All motorhomes come ready for hire with a full tank of diesel, and a full tank of LPG. Please refer to the Additional Hire Items for information on how to save money on your first tank of diesel and LPG.
 
All motorhome hires are subject to a diesel tax recovery fee. This is normally calculated and collected on the return of your vehicle and is based on the kilometres travelled during your hire. The vehicle rates per 100km are:

• HiTop - Nil
• Elite - NZ$3.20
• Explorer - NZ$3.40
• Frontier - NZ$3.70

Pick-up/drop-off fees
