Great New Zealand Steam Journeys only works with the major steam preservation groups who are accredited for main line steam running and have a history of running successful steam excursions. This means you can be assured that the highest standards of safety and professionalism are always maintained.
All of the train travel is at a leisurely pace during the day and you will only travel for 2 to 3 hours at a time before heading off to explore the local attractions. You will be able to discover the unspoilt beauty of New Zealand – without suffering any of the “fatigue” associated with other types of travel.
