Hiking New Zealand now has a fleet of six mini buses and special customized trailers, and a great team of talented and professional guides running over ninety scheduled departures a year! Hiking New Zealand tours can be classed as ”Active Outdoor Adventure” and you will be challenged in many different ways, but the guides are there to support and encourage you when you need it. Overview
This outdoor adventure holiday explores New Zealand's North Island. Go backpacking through many of New Zealand's North Island wilderness areas. Hike through Jurassic-like podocarp rainforest and follow a river through a beautiful gorge in Whirinaki Forest Park. Kayak across the enchanting Lake Tarawera and soak in thermal streams surrounded by native bush. Go backpacking through a spectacular volcanic wonderland in Tongariro NP and climb to the summit of an active volcano. Find glowworms, waterfalls and limestone formations in a hidden cave. Hike into Mt Egmont NP and climb Fanthams peak at dawn for stunning views of Mt Egmont/Taranaki and across to the distant mountains of Tongariro NP.

Overview
This adventure trip takes you backpacking in the eastern and northern parts of New Zealand's South Island, and is great if you enjoy hiking to mountain summits. This New Zealand hiking holiday concentrates on the east and north/ northeast areas of the South Island. You'll be able to gaze in wonder at the immensity of whales in their natural environment and enjoy the antics of dolphins and seals. Watch the sun rise over the Pacific Ocean from the summit of Mt Fyffe in the rugged Kaikoura range. Birdwatch in a 'mainland island' reserve and swim in crystal clear lakes and rivers. Wander through dappled sunlight in beech forest and get to know quirky alpine plants. Hike along a rocky alpine ridge with views of glacial lakes, climb a craggy peak and follow a cascading mountain stream in Nelson Lakes National Park. Sea kayak the clear blue waters of Abel Tasman National Park. Overview
This guided walking tour explores Northland, New Zealand's warmest and most northern region. The Far North is a walking and camping tour of New Zealand north of Auckland.
