| Rippinvale Country Retreat is an ideal mountain retreat for those looking to unwind in the thermal resort of Hanmer Springs. Situated in a large and secluded wooded garden, the retreat is a short walk from the Hanmer Springs alpine village. Built in 2000 from mud blocks in the traditional New Zealand style, Rippinvale is purpose-built bed and breakfast. This large country home offers spectacular uninterrupted alpine views, sweeping lawns, and large landscaped areas of New Zealand flora. The accommodation itself is very private, in cottage style suites set within their own courtyards. A full special menu breakfast is served daily (either in your suite or al fresco in your courtyard) including sea run smoked salmon, free range eggs, and other delightful homemade indulgences. For the ultimate relaxation why not treat yourself to a therapeutic massage from Helen, or for those wanting a more active stay, John has an extensive knowledge of the region and offers guided hunting, fishing, 4WD, and photography tours of the area. |

"Thank you for sharing your home with us. Great hospitality, excellent breakfast and professional presentation. We very much enjoyed the country conversation."
Peter and Joy Harrison, UK
"You have created for us a multitude of gifts for our senses. A lovely view in every direction, from mountains to gardens. A tastefully appointed apartment, flowers, fruit and the best ginger cookies for our 'cuppas'. A truffle to say goodnight, a great bed and Breakfast so elegant and delicious we felt we were royalty. The best massage we've experienced-anywhere! You've got us all here at Rippenvale, Helen and John. Thank you for your good taste and hospitality!"
