| Description | Waimarama is a luxurious, self contained, historic house located on the banks of the Tongariro River in Turangi. This 4 star plus Qualmark rated house and cottage is one of the original riverside homes of the region that have been recently renovated to 21st century standards. Waimarama is situated overlooking the famous Major Jones and Breakfast fishing pools on the Tongariro River and guests seeking fine trout fishing can be on these magical reaches of the river within minutes of arrival. Other activities available include the alpine challenges of the nearby central North Island ski fields on Mount Ruapehu. Alternatively, Waimarama provides a wonderful base from which to enjoy hiking or mountain biking in the Tongariro National Park and any number of adventure and other attractions that are available on and around neighbouring Lake Taupo. The Lodge House is fully self-contained and consists of 1 double bedroom with ensuite, plus 1 double and 1 twin bedroom and another bathroom. The Cottage is styled like a studio with kitchenette facilities. It has additional capacity for an extra 2 people, with a double bed and ensuite. Some of the listed property features apply only to the house. A two night minimum stay applies to the Lodge House and cottage (year round).
