Auckland Restaurants
Within the Auckland region and very close to the Auckland CBD is Waiheke Island - the food and wine Mecca of Auckland. There are around 30 vineyards nestled in lush valleys on Waiheke Island which is now world renowned for producing great red wines due to its unique microclimate. High temperatures and low summer rainfall make it drier during the critical grape ripening period.
You can also experience great Pacific Rim dining on Waiheke Island and within the Auckland region due to the wide variety of cultures found here. Everything from a range of vineyard and a la carte restaurants, wine bar cafes, family restaurants, fish and chip shops, takeaway and burger bars can be found within Auckland to meet all tastes and budgets.
