Rotorua

The geothermal capital of New Zealand, Rotorua is the perfect definition of sustainable tourism. Located a few hours drive south of Auckland, it is an ideal spot to travel if you only have a few days to get away. The beauty of the surrounding forests, lakes and rivers in the Rotorua area have enabled a diverse range of accommodation from fishing lodge getaways to boutique modern apartments - to satisfy any accommodation desire.

As you would expect - activities in Rotorua are plentiful as they are varied. Spend the day visiting the buried village, or fishing on the blue lake before heading to the Marae for a traditional Maori dinner - or perhaps relaxing at the day spa after watching bubbling mud and geysers explode. This added to the cities award winning gardens, volcanic mountains, crater lakes and great Rotorua accommodation means that those who travel here will never be left lost for something to do!
