| Description | This is a special house with a colourful history. Built in 1904 by a missionary family, the villa was split into two flats around the middle of last century. In 1977 restoration began and a beautiful kauri staircase connecting the upper and lower floors was discovered. Chris and Mark have now completed the restoration started so long ago by previous owners and today Stafford Villa exudes warmth, charm and elegance. Chris's history is as colourful as the house's and travel has always been at the very core of it. For her lucky guests, this experience is in full evidence. By picking out the best of what she has experienced around the world and transplanting it into Stafford Villa, Chris has managed to create a glorious world in which her guests are able to truly relax in a cocoon of fine things and fine attitudes. Stafford Villa was 'The Finalist'in the New Zealand Tourism Awards 2008 for Boutique accommodation. |
