The currency of New Zealand is the New Zealand dollar. The currency is comprised
of 10 cent, 20 cent, 50 cent, 1 dollar and 2 dollar coins and 5 dollar, 10 dollar,
20 dollar, 50 dollar and 100 dollars notes.
All major credit cards are recognized. New Zealand has an almost universal EFTPOS
(Electronic Funds Transfer at Point Of Sale) system and an extensive 24-hour
cash machine (ATM) network. Travelers’ cheques are also widely accepted.
Trading banks are generally open Monday-Friday from 9.00am-4.30pm.
